PrayerCircle ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

1. Who we are

PrayerCircle is a Christian prayer app developed by Ruard Stolper. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at admin@prayercircles.online.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:

• Name and username — used to identify your account and display your profile to others.
• Email address — used to create and secure your account and send important account-related notifications.
• Prayer requests — the text you choose to share as a prayer request. Public requests are visible to other users; group requests are visible only to group members; anonymous requests hide your name.
• Direct messages — private messages you send to other users. These are encrypted at rest.
• User ID — an internal identifier used to link your content to your account.
• Push notification token — used to deliver prayer notifications to your device.
• Crash data — anonymous crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.

3. How we use your data

• To operate and deliver the app's core features (prayer feed, groups, messaging, notifications).
• To protect the safety of our community through AI-assisted content moderation.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues using crash reports.
• To send you notifications when someone prays for you or sends you a message (you can turn these off in Settings).

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google) — for push notifications and crash reporting.
• OpenAI — prayer request and message text is sent to OpenAI's moderation API to check for harmful content. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models.
• Google Translate API — prayer text may be sent to detect its language so it appears in the correct language feed.
• Railway — our hosting provider where your data is stored on secure servers.

5. Anonymous mode

When you post anonymously, your display name is hidden from other users. Your account is still internally linked to the prayer request so we can moderate content and honour deletion requests.

6. Data retention

Prayer requests expire after 7 days by default and are removed from public feeds. Your account data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@prayercircles.online. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

PrayerCircle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Prayer request text and direct messages are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
